Services

Services are provided to all qualified residents of Crawford County who are 60 years or older. There are no income or asset restrictions and services are provided on a monetary donation basis only.

 Nutrition

Congregate meals are a hot meal, catered by Council on Aging staff, in a congenial atmosphere with opportunities to meet new friends and to socialize with old friends. Meals are served Monday through Friday at 11:30 AM at the Senior Center, 200 South Spring Street, in Bucyrus, and at the Golden Age Center, 301 South Market Street, in Galion. Reservations can be made by calling the Council on Aging and must be made no later than the day before.

Consumers living within ½ mile of the city limits of Galion, Crestline or Bucyrus will receive a hot well-balanced meal delivered to their home between 11:00AM and 1:00PM by a volunteer or Agency employee. Eligible consumers living outside of these boundaries will receive frozen meals delivered to their home on Monday.  Meals on Wheels can be requested by the consumer, a family member, friend, doctor, hospital etc. and eligibility, including home bound status, can usually be determined at the time the request is made.
